Description

This module takes an overview of the ideas and issues that have shaped understandings of globalisation. There is an emphasis on the diversity of perceptions and arguments that have driven the considerable interest in globalisation and its meanings. This emphasis will be delivered through the introduction of the concepts of sovereignty and international order. Focussing especially on key contemporary global events and processes, the module will provide students with the basic analytical tools required to make sense of international affairs.
